Ali MacGraw
Elizabeth Alice MacGraw better known as Ali MacGraw is an award-winning American model, author, designer and activist for animal rights. She has been acclaimed for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). Her family was an artistic family in New York and wanted to take up a profession in the field of art. She started as a photographer's assistant, and later moved into modeling and acting. She won an award called the Golden Globe Award in 1990 as a promising young actress. MacGraw's 1970 film Love Story was an international success, earning her the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. After only three movies MacGraw was named the most successful female film in the history of box offices. Her footprints from 1972 and autograph were engraved on the wall of Grauman's Chinese Theater. She has starred in several other films including The Getaway Convoy Players and the miniseries on TV The Winds of War among others. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw has been married three times.
